Well, I said to myself when taking a walk last year just before leaving st andrews that I would love to start a blog. So it seems fitting to start the entries just before I go back to uni.

I could write an essay for this second entry, but I will try to be brief and then say more later.

I have been super busy the last week with packing and “closing down” my life at home before going back to uni. I realy don’t manage well with having to cart all my stuff arround from house to house! My car gets full faster each year! It also means that I have to put everything I was dooing at home on hold for another year.

I went to papworth for the last time this year on wednesday. It was great fun and gill was on so she let me do loads of things to help. I realy love helping out there as I get to see medicine from a totaly different perspective and I get to make the patients smile when you can do simple things for them.

Its going to be quite different at st andrews this year, as lots of my medic friends have left (and gone to manchester). I am going to try and visit them at some point, and I have said to my self that I want to try and get involved in some new things this year to make a change. Its also going to be different for work as its much less structured.

Its a long drive back to uni and hopefuly the traffic won’t be too bad (I love the M6 Toll!). It should take about 9 hours.

The new flat at st andrews is ok, but its a bit retro. So I am going to try my best to make it look a bit better when I get there!

I am going to be busy this next week with helping for freshers week, I have to welcome the new residents in st regs on sunday and I am helping with the ResNet team during the week for peoples computers. I am also going to be dooing loads of things for the Bute Medics and Ambassadors (two socities that I am involved in). I realy like getting invoved in welcoming the new people, as I was very nervous when I first came to uni and I feel that I want to help make there lives a little easier. Last year a new student came upto me and said “you took me round on an open day and encouraged me to apply here and I am so glad I did”, that made me so happy. Some times the little things that people say in life are the best.

Well, this is something new for me and I think that it will be an interesting experience.

I suppose that I have been inspired to do this by the fact that I have so much going on in my life at the moment that I think this will be a good place to sort ideas out in my mind.

Please be patient while I update the site with more info and pictures. (I am trying to do a little bit each evening). By the way I find that is always the best way to tackle big projects, just to a little part each day.

In case you are interested I chose “From ideas to reality” as the title of this blog because I think it is a good thing to aspire to, it can take a lot of hard work and thought to turn ideas into reality some times!
